These sheets look similar but are not interchangeable sizes. The table describes the whole sheet, not the printable area supported by a particular printer. The comparison tool shows their width and height at the same scale.
Why a print can shrink or be cropped
A mismatch between the document page size, the print dialog and the paper in the tray can cause cropping or automatic scaling. Align all three settings and inspect the preview. If a template must print at its intended size, check any “fit to page” option and measure a reference length on the printed sheet.
Choosing a folder
Check the paper size a folder can hold, rather than its external dimensions. A flat comparison cannot establish whether a thick stack or binder fits. Paper thickness varies with material and weight; the unverified thickness reference on this site is not a fixed thickness specified by the paper-size standard.
